Safe Play Policy

Responsible Gambling

Squeen believes gambling should always be a form of entertainment — never a financial strategy or a way to escape problems. We provide the tools, information, and support every player needs to stay in control.

For Players Aged 21 and Above Only

Play Smart. Stay in Control.

Responsible gambling is not a regulatory checkbox at Squeen — it is a genuine operational commitment that shapes how we design our platform, train our support team, and interact with every registered player. We take the welfare of our members seriously, and we have invested significantly in the tools and systems that allow players to set meaningful boundaries around their gaming activity.

"Gambling is entertainment. When it stops being fun — when you're chasing losses, hiding your habits, or gambling with money you can't afford to lose — it's time to use the tools on this page."

For the vast majority of Squeen's players across Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, Penang, Johor Bahru, and Shah Alam, a night on the slots or a football bet on the EPL is a casual, enjoyable activity. But we know that for some players, gambling can become a source of stress rather than recreation. Recognising the difference — and acting on it — is what this page is about.

All the tools described below are available at no charge to every registered Squeen player. You do not need to justify your choice to use them. Our support team will never question or discourage a player who requests a limit, a cooling-off period, or a self-exclusion. These tools exist to be used.

Your Control Panel

Every tool below is available to all Squeen players at no cost. They can be applied instantly through your account settings or by contacting our support team via live chat.

Financial Control
Deposit Limits

Set a maximum deposit amount on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Once a limit is in place, it takes effect immediately. Reducing a limit happens instantly; increasing one requires a 24-hour cooling period to prevent impulsive reversals.

Time Management
Session Time Limits

Configure an on-screen notification that triggers when your gaming session reaches a duration you set — 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, or a custom interval. A gentle reminder that time has passed is often all it takes to make a conscious decision about whether to continue.

Awareness
Reality Checks

Enable periodic pop-up summaries during your session that display your net win/loss position, how long you have been playing, and the total amount wagered. These are designed to break the immersive flow of gaming and bring your actual situation into focus.

Short Break
Cooling-Off Period

Need a short step back without committing to full self-exclusion? A cooling-off period locks your account from gameplay and deposits for a period you choose: 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days. You can still withdraw your balance during this time.

Serious Step
Self-Exclusion

Self-exclusion permanently or indefinitely blocks your access to Squeen, including all games, deposits, and bonuses. A minimum 6-month self-exclusion can be extended to 1, 2, or 5 years, or made permanent. Re-entry after the exclusion period requires a formal request and a waiting period.

Loss Management
Loss Limits

Set a cap on how much you can lose in a defined period. When your net losses reach the limit you have configured, your session ends automatically and no further bets can be placed until the period resets. This tool prevents a bad run from compounding into a crisis.

When Gambling Becomes a Problem

Problem gambling rarely announces itself. It develops gradually — often in ways that are easy to rationalise in the moment. The warning signs below are not a diagnosis, but they are a meaningful signal that something has shifted and that it may be time to use one of our player tools or seek outside support.

If you recognise several of these patterns in yourself, please don't wait. Contact our 24/7 support team, activate a self-exclusion, or reach out to one of the support resources listed on this page. Early action is always easier than dealing with a crisis later.

You gamble with money set aside for rent, bills, groceries, or other essential expenses.

You feel the urge to increase your bet sizes or play for longer to get the same level of excitement.

You "chase" losses — continuing to bet in order to win back money you've already lost.

You hide your gambling habits from family members, friends, or a partner.

You feel restless, irritable, or anxious when you are not able to gamble.

Gambling has caused you to miss work, damage a relationship, or neglect responsibilities.

You have borrowed money, sold items, or taken loans specifically to fund gambling.

You have made repeated unsuccessful attempts to reduce or stop gambling on your own.

Check In With Yourself

These questions are adapted from internationally recognised problem gambling screening tools. Answer them honestly — they're only for you.

1

Have you ever felt the need to bet more and more money to get excited by gambling?

2

Have you ever gone back to try to win back money you lost gambling — the same day, or another day?

3

Have you ever lied to people around you — family, partner, friends — to hide how much you gamble?

4

Have you ever gambled to escape from problems, to cope with a low mood, or to feel less anxious?

5

Have you ever borrowed money from someone or sold something to pay for gambling?

6

Has gambling ever caused you serious financial difficulty, relationship problems, or affected your job?

7

Have you ever made repeated promises to yourself — or others — to stop or cut back gambling, without success?

If you answered "yes" to two or more of these questions, your gambling habits may be causing harm. We strongly encourage you to speak with our support team, activate a self-exclusion tool, or contact one of the support organisations listed below. There is no shame in asking for help — it is the smart move.

Tips for Healthy Play

Most players who enjoy Squeen do so without developing harmful habits. These practical habits help keep gambling in its proper place — as a leisure activity alongside everything else in your life.

The single most important thing you can do is be honest with yourself about why you're playing and how you feel when you do. Fun? Great. Stressed? That's the signal to log off.

Set a budget before you start — decide on a fixed MYR amount you're comfortable losing before you open the platform. When it's gone, the session is over.

Never gamble with borrowed money — avoid using credit cards, personal loans, or borrowed funds to fund any gaming activity.

Time-box your sessions — decide on a maximum session duration before you start and use Squeen's session timer feature to enforce it.

Accept losses as the cost of entertainment — treat the money spent the same way you'd treat a cinema ticket or a dinner out. Don't chase what you've lost.

Don't gamble under emotional stress — if you've had a bad day at work or are dealing with personal problems, this is not the time to play. Gambling when emotional leads to poor decisions.

Keep gambling in balance — ensure it doesn't crowd out other activities you enjoy: football with friends, family time, exercise. The moment gambling starts replacing those things, reassess.

Withdraw your winnings — when you win, withdraw the amount instead of replaying it. This builds the healthy habit of treating winnings as real money, not just chips to cycle back in.

Squeen's Commitment

Beyond the tools we make available to players, Squeen itself carries a set of operational commitments that govern how the platform is run and how our team is trained to interact with players showing signs of distress.

These are not aspirational statements. They are active policies enforced at every level of the business, from product design to customer support to marketing practices.

Strict 21+ Age Verification

Every Squeen account undergoes KYC verification prior to the first withdrawal. We use documented identity verification to confirm that no player under the age of 21 is active on the platform. Underage accounts are immediately closed and deposits returned.

Responsible Marketing Practices

Squeen does not market to individuals who have self-excluded or who have active responsible gambling flags on their account. Our promotional communications include responsible gambling reminders and are never targeted at vulnerable player segments.

Algorithmic Risk Monitoring

Our platform uses automated monitoring tools to flag accounts exhibiting patterns consistent with problem gambling — including extreme session length, sharp loss acceleration, or behaviour following a self-exclusion request. Flagged accounts receive a welfare check from our support team.

Staff Training

All customer-facing Squeen staff receive training on identifying signs of problem gambling and how to respond with empathy and appropriate signposting. Our team is instructed never to discourage a player from using responsible gambling tools.

Segregated Player Funds

Player balances are held in segregated accounts, separate from Squeen's operational funds. This means your deposited money is protected and accessible for withdrawal regardless of the company's financial position.

Play with Confidence

Squeen is built for players who want a fair, well-managed gaming experience. If you have questions about our responsible gambling tools or want to activate any of them, our support team is available 24/7.

Squeen is for players aged 21 and above only. Gambling can be addictive. Please play responsibly.
